Elm Court

In 1985, Elm Court opened its doors with 88 one-bedroom and studio units, 9 of which are designed for individuals who are mobility impaired.

Elm Court was designed to serve Princeton’s very low-income senior residents. Non-senior applicants, under age 62, are eligible for housing if they require the accessible features of a handicap unit as defined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Elm Court is located at 300 Elm Road in the western section of Princeton.

Princeton Community Housing receives support for this project in the form of HUD 202 funds and Section 8 rental subsidies.  Residents pay 30% of their adjusted annual gross income in rent. Community activities include holiday parties, bingo, and health screenings. Some residents of Elm Court are eligible to participate in the Congregate Care Program, which offers a meal, light housekeeping. and limited personal care services.

The Community Garden is a joint venture between Elm Court and Harriet Bryan House - an adjacent PCH community. Residents of the two communities grow vegetables and flowers in their own garden plots.  Transportation to grocery stores, the hospital, the Princeton Shopping Center, Palmer Square and various churches is available on a weekly basis through transportation services provided by Princeton, Princeton Community Housing and Mercer County. These activities and services make Elm Court a lovely place to live.
