As a Social Services Coordinator at Princeton Community Housing (PCH), Abby Berberian plays an essential role in advancing the organization’s mission to provide more than housing that is safe, high-quality, and affordable. She primarily supports residents at Princeton Community Village (PCV) and Griggs Farm through the PCH Difference—an approach centered on strengthening resident stability and fostering connections to the broader Princeton community by linking individuals and families to resources through PCH’s network of partner organizations. Together, these two communities include more than 300 homes and residents from diverse backgrounds, each with unique needs and levels of support.
Since joining PCH in September 2025, Abby has focused on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where residents feel comfortable seeking guidance and sharing concerns. In collaboration with the PCV and Griggs Farm management teams and her colleagues in Social Services, she has expanded opportunities for community engagement by organizing regular events that bring residents together. She also works closely with residents, particularly families with young children, to help organize gatherings that encourage their fellow neighbors to share ideas, talents, and perspectives. These efforts strengthen community connections while providing valuable insight into residents’ interests and needs.
One of Abby’s most prioritized tasks is keeping residents informed and connected. Through monthly newsletters, community notices, and in-person meetings, she ensures residents have access to timely information and support. She partners with colleagues and community organizations across Princeton and Mercer County to connect residents with a wide range of resources, including arts and cultural opportunities, financial education, food access, healthcare, rental assistance, and employment services. Abby values this strong local network and sees it as a model that she hopes other communities could replicate.
Above all, Abby enjoys building relationships with residents and learning their stories. She brings empathy, flexibility, and positivity to her work, always focused on helping the community thrive—often closing her interactions with a cheerful, “Have a great day!”
