About Elm Court

Opened in 1985, Elm Court is home to 88 affordable studio and one-bedroom apartments for very low-income older adults. Nine apartments are fully accessible for residents with mobility impairments.

Elm Court primarily serves seniors age 62 and older. However, applicants under age 62 may be eligible if they require the accessible features of a mobility-accessible apartment, as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Elm Court is supported by HUD Section 202 funding and Section 8 rental assistance. No resident’s rent exceeds 30% of their adjusted annual income.

Some residents may also qualify for the Congregate Care Program, which provides meals, light housekeeping, and limited personal care services to help older adults maintain their independence.

Elm Court shares a vibrant community garden with its neighboring PCH community, Harriet Bryan House, where residents grow vegetables and flowers in individual garden plots while enjoying many other activities and community events together.

Residents also have access to weekly transportation services to grocery stores, the hospital, the Princeton Shopping Center, Palmer Square, and local places of worship through transportation programs provided by Princeton, Princeton Community Housing, and Mercer County.
