Jorge Morales Aviles serves as Maintenance Superintendent at Princeton Community Housing (PCH), where he oversees the Elm Court, Harriet Bryan House, Griggs Farm, and Princeton Rentals communities. With so many residents under his care, he is kept busy and on his toes every day. He spends much of his time at Elm Court and Harriet Bryan House, where he has gotten to know not just the names and faces of the senior tenants he serves, but also their personalities, routines, and individual needs. His goal extends beyond repairs, focusing on ensuring that every resident feels safe, comfortable, and can live with dignity each day at home.
Jorge first joined PCH in 2017 and stepped into his current role in 2022, bringing him close to a decade with the organization. His steady presence reflects a deep commitment to both the work and the people behind it. That dedication traces back to his life in Puerto Rico, where he began working with his hands as a teenager and remained with the same company for 14 years. While the settings have changed over time, the heart of the work has remained familiar—solving problems, listening carefully, being patient, and taking pride in doing things the right way. What motivates Jorge each day is knowing there is meaningful work to be done and doing it well.
Though highly experienced, Jorge is quick to credit those who helped shape his path, including the former Superintendent he worked alongside, as well as Gil, Superintendent at Princeton Community Village (PCV). He approaches each day with patience and curiosity, recognizing that there is always more to learn, especially in a role where the unexpected is part of the job. He thrives in these kinds of spaces, believing that it staves off boredom. Jorge asserts that every person and every situation offers an opportunity to grow, a philosophy that shapes how he shows up for the community he is a part of.
