Why PCH? Why were you interested in joining the PCH Board and working for affordable housing in Princeton?

I’ve been a member of the Community Board since 2019. I represent the League of Women Voters of the Princeton Area. It’s great to be working with PCH because they are so focussed on providing and maintaining affordable housing options in the Princeton area. I’m excited now about the 25 new housing units that are being added to Princeton Community Village - a project that will be completed in 2023.

What is your professional background?

I retired from the State Health Department in 2005 where I worked for over 25 years as a Research Scientist for the Cancer Epidemiology Services unit. I am a graduate of the Rutgers School of Social Work, where I concentrated on social policy.

How long have you been in the Princeton area and why did you come to this community?

My wife and I have lived in Princeton now for over 30 years. We used to live in Pennsylvania but wanted to live closer to my children. Princeton was the ideal place, as it turned out, to live.

What other volunteer activities do you participate in?

Besides the PCH and the League of Women Voters, I am active in my union’s retired members chapter. I am also involved in the educational and civil rights activities of the Japanese American Citizens League.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Probably too many interests, but I love the arts, especially the theater, music, film and photography. I am also a big fan of horse racing.
